Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party result provider. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. When a visitor writes to us, we receive the message content and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may create standard logs with an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar technologies.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited information to operate the reference, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The policy of the destination service governs information submitted there, including information sent through sponsored result tools.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where a visitor lives, that visitor may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held by a website. Minnesota's Consumer Data Privacy Act is codified in Chapter 325M, including Minn. Stat. ยง 325M.10, for covered entities. Because this reference keeps very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what is found. Use the Contact page. Government records held by Minnesota, Dakota County, or Inver Grove Heights are outside our control and must be addressed to their custodian.
Updates to This Policy
Policy revisions will appear here. Continued use after a posted revision indicates acceptance of the current version.
